The three main areas for villa holidays are Corralejo in the north, Caleta de Fuste in the centre-east, and Morro Jable/Costa Calma in the south. Each has a distinct character, different beaches, and suits different types of traveller.

Corralejo (North Fuerteventura)
Corralejo is our home base — and we think it's the best place to stay in Fuerteventura for most villa holidaymakers.
The beaches: Corralejo sits alongside the Corralejo Natural Park, which has 10km of protected white sand dunes and crystal-clear Atlantic water. These are among the finest beaches in Europe and, because the area is protected, they can't be overdeveloped. You get stunning, natural beaches just minutes from the town.
The town: Corralejo has a proper town feel — independent restaurants, bars, a harbour, weekly markets, boutique shops, and a relaxed but social atmosphere. It's lively enough to be interesting without being noisy or overwhelming. There's a real mix of locals and tourists which gives it an authentic Canarian character.
Watersports: Corralejo is a world-class watersports hub. Flag Beach to the south of town is one of Europe's top spots for kitesurfing and windsurfing. Surfing, diving, SUP, and glass-bottom boat trips are all readily available.
Best for: Couples, families, watersports enthusiasts, anyone who wants the best beaches combined with a real town experience.
Villa options: Corralejo has the widest range of villa rentals in Fuerteventura, from small bungalow apartments to large beachfront villas sleeping 6–8 guests. Canary Villas has two properties in Corralejo — The Beach House (beachfront, up to 6 guests) and the Bungalow Apartment (private garden, up to 4 guests).
Caleta de Fuste (Central-East Fuerteventura)
Caleta de Fuste is a purpose-built resort town about 15 minutes south of the airport. It's calmer, more sheltered, and has a very different feel to Corralejo.
The beaches: Caleta de Fuste has a sheltered horseshoe bay with calm, flat water — excellent for young children and nervous swimmers. The beach itself is decent but smaller than Corralejo's and more developed. There's no equivalent to the Natural Park beaches here.
The town: Much more of a resort than a town. There are shopping centres, tourist restaurants, and a marina. It's clean and well-organised but lacks the character of Corralejo. Primarily a British and German tourist destination.
Best for: Families with very young children who need calm, flat water. Those who prioritise convenience over character and want easy access from the airport.
Morro Jable & Costa Calma (South Fuerteventura)
The southern end of Fuerteventura is dominated by the Jandia peninsula and the long Sotavento beach — arguably the island's most spectacular stretch of sand.
The beaches: Sotavento beach is extraordinary — miles of white sand with a lagoon that forms at low tide, perfect for windsurfers and kitesurfers. The PWA Windsurfing and Kitesurfing World Cup is held here annually. For those who just want to relax, it's one of the most beautiful beaches in the Canaries.
The town: Morro Jable is at the far southern tip — a small, pleasant town with a working harbour and some good fish restaurants. Costa Calma is a quieter resort village with a more upmarket feel. The south is generally less lively than Corralejo.
Best for: Serious windsurfers and kitesurfers. Those who want very peaceful, uncrowded beaches and don't need nightlife or a lively town scene.

For most people searching for a holiday villa in Fuerteventura — Corralejo is the right choice. It has the best combination of beach quality, town atmosphere, watersports, and villa rental options. The Natural Park beaches are genuinely world-class, and the town has enough going on to keep you entertained for a fortnight without feeling like a resort bubble.
If you have very young children and prioritise calm water above everything else, consider El Cotillo (a small village 20 minutes west of Corralejo with a stunning sheltered lagoon) as an alternative — you still get the north's character without the wind exposure.
